Let's Talk About Adulting

About Me
Hi there! My name is Kaitlyn Ender and I am 22-years-old. I created "Let's Talk About Adulting" for my capstone writing project! I am graduating from the University of Michigan with my bachelor's degree in psychology and writing. I will be pursuing my master's in social work this fall at the University of Michigan.
I feel kind of funny adding an "about me" section because my writing for this project already reveals so much about who I am! To change it up and make this fun, I'm going to make a list (I love lists) of some of my current favorite things in life:
-
As I mentioned in the introduction to my project, I am a flower enthusiast. I thoroughly appreciate and enjoy the beauty of flowers. My favorite flowers are peonies. My nana has a small patch of them that bloom every spring. If you've never smelled a peony before, please do so at your earliest convenience. They smell heavenly. The picture of me to the right showcases some of my nana's stunning peonies. Below that is a photo of me in a sunflower field this past summer (also super magical; highly recommend you go to one!)
-
I have recently become obsessed with biking. It is probably the best way to unwind and relax. I love appreciating the nature around me, listening to the birds chirping or the squirrels running around, and smelling the fresh air.
-
Pasta is my favorite food. If I have to be more specific, then Chicken Alfredo is my favorite. I found an amazing recipe that I now make at home; it has really changed the game during quarantine.
-
I have a shopping problem. It's been my guilty pleasure ever since I can remember. I'm a sucker for a good sale and cute clothes.
-
My biggest goal in life is to help people. I am super passionate about children's rights, and I hope to write a book one day about my experiences as a child of divorce dealing with a corrupt court system.
-
Painting has become another one of my favorite activities. Just give me some cheap acrylic paints and a canvas- I'll be entertained for hours.
-
I'm so excited to share this project with the world! I really enjoyed reflecting on my experiences during the past four years. It was very cathartic to be able to share what I've learned. I hope my stories might make others feel less alone; I know the stories I featured in the project helped comfort me immensely!
